Central Co-op is thrilled to announce the launch of its Co-op Generation card for under 16s. This initiative is designed especially for young people under 16, empowering them to access mouth-watering Member deals.

Introducing Co-op Generation – the ticket to exclusive Member deals for young people, including nutritious meal deal lunches and a range of tasty snacks. This trial initiative highlights Central Co-op's commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and participation among younger members of the community.

From the 1st to 31st of May, the countdown is on for under 16s to seize the moment and grab their slice of the action with the Co-op Generation card. Upon approval, cardholders will enjoy access to exclusive Member deals until they reach 16 years old, at which point they become eligible for full Central Co-op Membership.

Applying for the Co-op Generation card is a breeze! Parents and guardians can fill out a quick online form on behalf of their under 16s, and the Co-op Generation card will arrive straight to their doorstep.

The announcement of Co-op Generation was made during Central Co-op's annual Members’ meeting on the 1st of May, amidst a spirit of excitement and anticipation for the opportunities it will bring to young people.

In addition to launching the Co-op Generation card, the Society has also pledged to offer a whopping 300 work experience placements this year and to support a further 1,500 students in employability workshops, where local store managers will work with local schools and colleges through its “adopt a school” programme.

Work experience opportunities are available throughout the year for students in years 10 and 11, those on college/university courses and for adults wanting to retrain in Central Co-op food stores, funeral homes or at its Support Centre in Lichfield. Participants will receive a complimentary meal deal, providing them with sustenance as they gain insight into various roles within Central Co-op.

Central Co-op believes that investing in the next generation is essential for building strong communities and a sustainable future. The Co-op Generation card and expanded work experience placements reflect Central Co-op's dedication to nurturing talent and fostering meaningful connections within its communities.
