A Central England Co-op shop in Leicestershire has been transformed with a significant investment giving a boost to the local community.

The food store in Burbage has received a makeover to give it a lighter, fresher feel and includes some exciting new features and ranges for locals to enjoy.

The Boyslade Road community food store has been undergoing the makeover in recent weeks with changes including:

  • A fantastic new food to go section with new features such as hot food and a Tango Ice Blast machine
  • New look and feel inside and refreshed signage outside
  • Self-checkouts installed for shoppers looking to make a quick purchase, as well as an improved kiosk
  • New customer seating outside for the local community to enjoy

Store Manager Emma Bonser said: “We’re all really excited as a team to see the store completely transformed. I returned to Burbage in February as Store Manager after being Team Leader here seven years ago, so it’s been fantastic for me to come back and be here to see the store receive this investment.

“As well as the new look we have extended our ranges and are now offering a lot more products for our customers, while we’ve also increased the space we have and are utilising what space we do have more to make it more customer friendly.

“We’ve had some great feedback from our customers visiting over the last few weeks commenting about how much fresher and lighter the store is and how much they like the changes which has been lovely to here.

“I would like to thank all our brilliant customers and members for their continued support and for their patience while we brought our new look store to life – I hope they agree with us that it’s been worth it.”

The Boyslade Road Food Store is open Monday to Sunday 7am-10pm. The store has a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special and also offers a free cash machine, customer car park, Lottery, Collect Plus/Paypoint, an instore bakery and a lifesaving defibrillator.
