A community food store in Nottinghamshire where colleagues have been going above and beyond to support locals during these uncertain times has been given a fresh new look following an investment of over £83,000.
The Central England Co-op in Mansfield Road, Skegby has received a raft of updates to give it a fresher, lighter feel and to include several new ranges and features to boost its offering to the local community.
This follows other notable investments by the retailer in the area in recent months, including a brand new £1.85 million food store in Warsop which opened last month, and almost £300,000 spent on transformations of stores in Giltbrook, Jacksdale and Hucknall.
The Skegby community food store has been undergoing a makeover in recent weeks with changes including:
- An updated product range to better reflect customers’ requirements including improved food to go and chilled alcohol sections
- New features such as a brand-new Costa Coffee machine
- New internal signage and decoration
Store Manager Emma Bonser said: “The team feel really inspired and excited to have had this significant investment in the store and it has been a real morale boost for everyone.
“The look and feel of the store is so much fresher and more modern and is a real point of difference now for the store. That has been shown by the really positive feedback from our customers who have been really happy with the extra space and ranges, and particularly the new food to go section with the addition of the Costa Coffee machine.
“I would like to thank the community for their patience while the work has been completed but I hope they agree with us that it has been worth it.”
The Mansfield Road Food Store is open Monday-Sunday 7am-10pm. The store has a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special and also offers a lifesaving defibrillator, cash machine, Collect Plus/Paypoint, Lottery, instore bakery and a customer car park.
